I first got the cake decorating bug just this past April when I decided to create a cake for my daughter's birthday party. The theme was a "Mad Hatter Tea Party" and after researching ideas I wanted to make a topsy-turvy cake. Unbeknown to me, this is a difficult cake to make, but if you know me, once I get my mind on something, well there is no stopping me.
The baking wasn't an issue...I've been doing that for years, but the carving and decorating with fondant brought me into a whole new world. Overall I was so happy with the final outcome, and most important, it tasted delicious!
