Some Extra Desserts

As much as I enjoy creating fun and special cakes, I still get so much enjoyment out of baking simple, delicious, comforting sweets. Here are some pictures of some simple treats I made this last week.

Fudge Brownies...All you need is a nice tall glass of milk or a hot cup of coffee!




Rustic Cake for a friend.....Buttermilk cake with Lemon Curd filling and frosted with Coconut Cream Cheese frosting.





Also, I have been trying out some new recipes for our Mini Dessert Menu...basically taking some of my favorite desserts and seeing how they work out when creating them bite-size. One of my favorite pies is a Rich Chocolate Mousse pie with Chocolate Crumble crust and topped with Kahlua Espresso Whipped Cream.

I love when strawberries are in season and I get to make on of my favorite tarts....
Strawberry Mascarpone Cream Tart. A lovely buttery flaky tart crust, filled with whipped sweetened mascarpone cheese and topped with fresh strawberries!




One of my favorite flavor combinations is chocolate and peanut butter, and this new pie recipe I tried out, married these two flavors in a rich and delicate way!

Peanut-Butter Chocolate pie with a graham cracker crust. I wish I had gotten a picture of a slice of this pie...it looked amazing. A thick chocolate ganache layer on the crust topped with a light peanut-butter mousse.
